About Officers: 2010-2011 Term

President: Lorraine Huit

A native El Pasoan, Lorraine has served on the Rotary Club of West El Paso’s board in various capacities and on several committees. She’s one of those folks who can always be counted on to lend a hand for any club endeavor. But Lorraine is also quite active outside the club. She was chairman of the city’s Public Arts Commission. She’s a former president of the Builder’s Association Women’s Council. She works with her husband, Delbert, at their business, Cardel Homes, and twice won the Builder of the Year Award. Before working at Cardel, Lorraine worked for the city of El Paso and, many years ago, started her career working in interior design. Her children also have kept her busy and now give her reason to be proud. Although she is a self-described workaholic, she also likes jogging and walking, and she loves to read true stories and love stories. She is also quite interested in politics. She joined Rotary because she wanted to help and serve the community. Her favorite Rotary memory was working on the first 4th of July Parade in 1997, which she describes as “very exciting.” As lucky as Rotary and El Paso is to have someone like Lorraine, it’s good to know that she considers El Paso home. As she put it, she is here “for the long haul” because her family and business are here. Let’s hope they continue to do well.
