About Directors: 2009-2010 Term

Youth Services Director: Gail Gale

Gail is one of the newer members of our club, having joined in November 2007. She is a native Westside El Pasoan, having graduated from Coronado High School. She left El Paso to attend Mc Murry University and later, Texas Tech where she earned her bachelors degree in Restaurant Hotel and Institutional Management. Having been in the hospitality industry most of her career, “service” has always been an important aspect of her training and emphasis, therefore it was second nature to embrace Rotary’s service mission. This passion expands into her interest in higher education (college and university administration) while she continues to pursue her masters degree at NMSU in the Educational Management and Development department in the School of Education, specifically designed for Higher Ed Administrators. She is very supportive of youth programs that emphasize leadership development beginning as early as elementary school, but she is most fascinated with the ages 10-25. It will be a fun year exposing young adults to Rotary through Interact and Rotoract clubs in the community and the district. She is a Racial Justice Facilitator for the YWCA, a member of: the Westside Welcome Club, AAUW (American Association of University Women), the Women’s Auxiliary of UTEP. She owns Stateline Home Solutions, a business for special solutions for fast selling techniques for pre-foreclosures, divorce, probate and relocation and is an Independent Associate for Pre-Paid Legal. Her favorite sports are swimming and cycling, and she loves camping and yoga. She and her husband Tom have been married 12 years and most enjoy being parents to Thomas, who just turned 3 in June. Tom grew up in Las Cruces and attended Beloit College, studying Economics and Managment and is a Territory Manager for Ecolab Inc. in El Paso, Alamagordo and Cloudcroft, serving the hospitality industry. They attend Trinity-First Methodist downtown and live in the upper valley. One of Gail’s favorite stories is about not knowing Tom’s last name when they met in 1987.
